“Father Goose” (Charles Ghigna) featured at 2010 Open House

14 11 2010

This year’s Open House was held Sunday, November 14th in the Children’s Department, featuring author Charles Ghigna. He is a world-renowned children’s poet that calls Homewood, Alabama, “home”. He explained that he wasn’t always a children’s author. He started writing for adults, but truly found his gift of writing for younger readers once his son, Chip, was born. His gift has lead him to world recognition, plus a chance to write for Disney.

We were so excited to have him come visit our library and read some selected passages of his favorite storybooks. Also, ”Father Goose” signed several copies of his books for our library patrons, as seen above. Thank you very much Mr. Ghigna!!!
