If you are interested, stop by the Circulation Desk (front desk) at the Trussville Public Library for job descriptions and applications. These positions will be open until filled. For more information, call us at 205-655-2022.

2) You need a QR code reader on your smartphone. There are many you can download and install for FREE! We prefer BeeTagg which you can download at the iTunes App Store, Android Marketplace or Blackberry App World.

Then, take a snapshot of the QR code with your smartphone & connect in SECONDS to the new mobile catalog. No typing, sending, or searching.

Lastly, log in to your library caccount, search the catalog, and reserve your items!

Our friends at the Hoover Library was so nice (and so smart) to put together such a wonderful tutorial, with pictures included, to help every reader be as “teach-savvy” as they need to be with their new eBook!

During National Library Week (April 10-16), the Public Libraries of Jefferson County are accepting this coupon (pictured on the left) as payment for overdue fines, up to $5.00!!!

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Pick up your copy of “The Reader” newsletter from your local library OR visit www.jclc.org/, click on “theReader”, and look for the coupon in Volume #21

2) Print off coupon

3) Bring coupon inside any Jefferson Couny library between April 10-16th to knock off $5 of overdue fines from your library account.

Just remember: limit 1 coupon per cardholder

This year’s Open House was held Sunday, November 14th in the Children’s Department, featuring author Charles Ghigna. He is a world-renowned children’s poet that calls Homewood, Alabama, “home”. He explained that he wasn’t always a children’s author. He started writing for adults, but truly found his gift of writing for younger readers once his son, Chip, was born. His gift has lead him to world recognition, plus a chance to write for Disney.

We were so excited to have him come visit our library and read some selected passages of his favorite storybooks. Also, ”Father Goose” signed several copies of his books for our library patrons, as seen above. At the end of the Food for Fines event, our library received approximately 1375 items throughout the entire month of September!!

All of the food items were donated to our local food bank, TEAM (Trussville Ecumenical Assistive Ministry), which is located in downtown Trussville.

We owe all the success of this food drive to our wonderful patrons! Thank you!!!

For every non-perishable food item that is donated, $1.00 will be taken off your total fines for a maximum of $10.00 that can be waived per library card holder.
